Commercial Vessels Applications
Aqualube marine bearings are supplied to builders of all types of commercial vessels, tugboats, fishing boats, fast ferries, crew boats and military vessels.

Modern day green issues mean that the trends in sterngear design are going away from oil and grease lubricated bearings. Shearwater is finding an ever increasing demand for its lubricated bearings from the commercial shipping sector of the market. Larger bearings can be supplied with higher rubber hardness for highly loaded applications.

Industrial Applications

Bearings for use with various types of pumps and turbines can be supplied. Water lubricated bearings offer considerable advantages due to their ability to resist abrasion when in contact with contaminated liquids.

The two main types of bearing used for industrial applications are the straight fluted for abrasive conditions, and spiral fluted where a stiffer bearing is required or where running clearances are more critical.
